AFED Secretariat Mourns the death of Alhaj Abdulhussein Khimji of Lindi, Tanzania

Alhaj Abdulhussein Kassamali Khimji


The Africa Federation Secretariat received with deep sadness the news of the death of Alhaj Abdulhussein Kassamali Khimji, President of the Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Jamaat of Lindi who passed away peacefully in the morning hours of Thursday, 1st June 2017 (6th Mahe Ramadhan 1438 A.H.) in his home in Lindi, southeastern of Tanzania. Marhum was buried on the same day in Lindi.

Marhum was born on 19th December 1956 in Mogadishu, Somalia where he obtained his education and grew up. He spent some years in Dubai, UAE and later moved to Lindi where he started a wholesale business dealing with building materials and sundry goods. He had a shop located on Uhuru Street in Lindi Municipality, which he operated till his death.

Marhum was a dedicated social worker who served the community in Lindi as President of the Jamaat from 1997 to 2007 and again from 2010 till his departure from this transient world to a permanent abode.

The Chairman of Africa Federation, Alhaj Shabir Najafi, the Office Bearers, Trustees and the Secretariat staff conveys their heartfelt condolences to the family and to the KSI Lindi Jamaat Office Bearers and Trustees during these difficult moments of the bereavement.

We pray to Allah (SWT) by His grace and mercy in this bountiful holy month of Ramadhan to grant Marhum maghferat and rest his soul amongst His chosen ones – Ameen.
