Appointment of AFED Honorary Assistant Treasurer

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Br. Aliabbas Nasser to the post of Honorary Assistant Treasurer of Africa Federation with effect from 1stDecember 2015 for the current term.

The Chairman of Africa Federation, Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi in the letter of appointment expressed his pleasure in welcoming Aliabbas to the team as office bearer of Africa Federation and wished him success; he pointed out on the long-term vision of his to provide opportunities to the young members of our community for their development and instill unto them the spirit of voluntarism intertwined with greater community services.

Brief Profile of Aliabbas Nasser:

Aliabbas Nasser is currently the Chief Financial Officer of a leading IT company in Tanzania, based in Dar es Salaam. His earlier positions were as a Finance Manager of group of companies whilst he started his career at the largest Pharmaceutical Distributors in Tanzania. Aliabbas was born in Songea in 1989 and spent most of his early life in Moshi, Kilimanjaro where he completed his secondary education. He has also been one of the youngest achiever of ACCA at the age of 20 Years. He has also done his Bsc Hons in App Acc; Dip in IFRS and is currently striving to complete his MBA Programme.

From his early age, Aliabbas started exhibiting signs of leadership by being chosen as the school president and as well captaining several teams in different sports, himself being a sports enthusiast.  Aliabbas has also been an active volunteer having taken part in various activities in Moshi Jamaat and as well a tutor at Madressah.

He continued with the same determination and zeal following his move to Dar es Salaam in 2006 where he joined Ithna-Asheri Union (IU) and Husseini Madressah. He has stood as the Treasurer for the IU Literary section for two years and later became its chairman for two years whereby he led many events some of which being the Brain of Community (First to ever have it for both Gents and Ladies of the community); Quizzes, Father’s Day, Youths Day and many more, He has also served the Youth Affairs in the capacity of treasurer and volunteered to lead the Hayaat Gym for over a year after its start.

His commitment, hard work and ability to work in a diverse environment shall be of great help to our institution.

We welcome him and wish him successful tenure in his new role in Africa Federation.
