CIRCULAR NO: AF/41/16
The Secretariat is pleased to announce the appointment of Sheikh Haniphe Akbaraly as the Vice Chairman of the Africa Federation from Conseil Regional Des Khojas Shia Ithna-Asheri Jamates De L’ocean Indien (CROI) for the term 2016 – 2019.
This is as per Clause 15 (b) of the Constitution of the Africa Federation which states:
The Vice Chairman from a Territorial Council shall be its Chairman whose term shall be concurrent with that of the term of the Chairman of the individual Territorial Council and shall be declared at the session of the Conference, and he shall also be one of the office bearers of the Federation.
Sheikh Haniphe Akbaraly was elected as Chairman of the Conseil Regional Des Khojas Shia Ithna-Asheri Jamates De L’ocean Indien (CROI) at the elections held in Madagascar in October 2016 and took over the helm at the 33rd Assembly of CROI held on 9th and 10thDecember 2016.
Sheikh Haniphe has been closely associated with the Institut Islamique de Madagascar (INISMA) for over two decades. He has also been an active member of CROI, holding responsible positions, devoting his time and energy with dedication to voluntary services.
Sheikh Haniphe is actively involved in external Tabligh work and has been instrumental in several projects in Madagascar under INISMA, like the Hawza, Hostel for students, Schools and Orphanage building in Antananarivo, Madagascar.
The activities of INISMA in Madagascar is almost similar to those of Bilal Muslim Missions of Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda, the Institut is focused mainly on external Tabligh and promoting the Madh’ab of Ahlulbayt (AS).
For the past many years, he has been organizing Hajj pilgrimage and Ziyarat trips for the community members from Indian Ocean Islands and other places.
On behalf of the Office Bearers, Trustees, the Secretariat staff of the Africa Federation and on my own behalf, I welcome Sheikh Haniphe to the team; by virtue of this appointment he becomes an Office Bearer of the Africa Federation.
We extend our heartiest congratulations to him on his appointment and wish him every success and prayers in carrying out his responsibilities and look forward to his valuable contributions in the development and accomplishment of the goals we have set for this term.
