The Africa Federation Secretariat appointed the following members as the Zanzibar Dispute Reconciliation Committee (ZDRC) following the recommendation of the Zanzibar Reconciliation Committee (ZRC) headed by Alhaj Gulamali Virji of Dubai who was appointed at the 80th Supreme Council Session held in Dar-es-Salaam in April 2018 to resolve the disputes and differences in Zanzibar Jamaat that had arisen following the elections that were to be held on 29th March 2018.

The ZDRC members consisted of: 

Alhaj Mohsin Lalji (Sheni) - Chairman
Alhaj Muslim Hassanali - Secretary
Alhaj Mohamed Nathoo
Alhaj Saleh Jacksi
Alhaj Alihussein Shamji
Alhaj Mohamed Takim
The main purpose of the team was to find an amicable way to resolve the disputes between the concerned members and the Jamaat with mission to restore harmony, good understanding, unity and mutual respect in our Zanzibar community. The ZDRC team held several consultative meetings with the concerned members individually and jointly.
Following the above, it was mutually agreed on the way forward to put in place a committee to run the affairs of the Jamaat until 31st March 2019, thereby a General Meeting and Elections shall be called in accordance with the Constitution of the Jamaat. During the period until the elections, the following will manage the affairs of the Kuwwatul Islam Jamaat.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Zanzibar Dispute Reconciliation Committee (ZDRC) and the new committee on Friday 7th September 2018 in AFED office in Dar-es-Salaam.
We call upon the members of our community in Zanzibar to extend their full support and co-operation to the committee.

The Secretariat wishes to record its appreciation to the members of Zanzibar Dispute Reconciliation Committee (ZDRC) headed by Alhaj Mohsin A. Lalji (Sheni) and his team for their commitment, efforts and valuable time put into this matter. 

We are also thankful to all the members of KSI Kuwwatul Islam Jamaat for the co-operation.

We pray to Allah (s.w.t.) for lasting peace, cooperation and harmony between all members of our community in Zanzibar for progress and development – Ameen.
