Teacher Training Program
The Education Board seeks to establish a good interactive relationship between all Schools by promoting student/teacher exchange programs between themselves, such as sharing of resources, Teacher Training Sessions, Interactive workshops, Educational Crash courses, Student Orientation Programs, school visits etc
To achieve this, the Education Board in collaboration with the World Federation invited Br. Arif Hasham (B.Sc(Hons) PGCE CBiol. MIBiol. NPQH) to Dar es Salaam in 2011, to offer his professional services in conducting a Teachers Training program for Al Muntazir Islamic Seminary.
Apart from the Teacher training sessions conducted by Br. Arif Hasham which received a good response from the teachers, meetings were also held with the School leadership team and heads.
The Education Board aims to facilitate more of such programs in the coming future with the cooperation from the schools.
Baseline School Assessment Program
In the year 2009, The Education Board introduced the Baseline School Assessment Program through the assistance of the World Federation, to be implemented in our educational institutions within member Jamaats, to benefit the respective Boards and Management.
The Baseline School Assessment was conducted by Mr. Terrence Ward ((Cert. Ed, Dip. Ed, B.Sc, C.phys) an Education Advisor with immense experience in different education levels within different schools across the world. Among the schools that participated and visited by the consultant were Mombasa, Nairobi and Arusha.
The Board of each school visited was given a confidential report about the perceived state of quality of teaching and learning observed. The report included recommendations that might help their development and which the schools were asked to consider.
In conclusion, the Overall performance of the Baseline School Assessment program as commended by all the 3 schools was extremely successful and well conducted by Mr. Ward.
Further to the first Visit carried out in 2009, the Education Board is pleased to have Mr. Terrence Ward for a second Baseline School Assessment program this year.
He is currently conducting an assessment program for the Bilal comprehensive School in Dar es Salaam, which will be followed by Amani School in Zanzibar, Jaffery Academy & Bilal School Mombasa, Jaffery Academy Nairobi and finally the Swadiq Junior School in Kampala.
The Education Board has launched a Facebook group called ‘SOARING HIGHER, with the aim of creating a network of students, allowing the flow of information and ideas between the Students and the Education Board. This will assist in further planning and enhancement of community members on their Career goals and extra curriculum activities.
The forum will also be used as a means of disseminating information to the students, on the opportunities offered by the Africa Federation, such as loan schemes, awards, scholarships etc
We strongly encourage youths to join this network.
