Ref: AKK/PR/2012/62
Following the recent appointments of the Central Bilal Board (CBB) Chairman, Alhaj Mohsin A. Lalji and the Hon. Secretary, Alhaj Inayat Alidina, AFED Chairman, Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi and the Office Bearers held the first meeting with CBB on 22nd November 2012. Welcoming Alhaj Mohsin Lalji and Alhaj Inayat Alidina, the AFED Chairman, Alhaj Anwarali thanked them for graciously accepting the appointments and wished them successful and pleasant tenure. He further assured them AFED’s full support.
This meeting covered several agendas, including an important role of the CBB in promoting the core aims and objectives of Bilal Muslim Mission, propagating the Madha’ab of Ahlulbayt (AS) and in developing a sound structure of manpower, operations and management to take the Mission of Ahlulbayt (AS) to higher levels, particularly taking cognizance of the current situation and challenges we face in Africa and in other parts of the World.
The Chairman, Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi advised the Chairman and the Hon. Secretary of the CBB to look into the present CBB Terms of Reference (ToR) which he pointed out that it has outlived its usefulness. He asked the CBB to come up with a revised ToR which after going through the process of approval etc. will be a new guiding document for CBB to operate effectively and productively towards fulfilling the Aims and Objectives of the Board and the Federation.
Alhaj Anwarali also advised Alhaj Mohsin Lalji and Alhaj Inayat Alidina to visit Bilal Muslim Mission in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda and also to visit the branches and centres in these countries to meet with the leadership, volunteers and the people. This will provide a good opportunity of learning and understanding the various challenges they face in their areas, also to witness the developments and activities being carried out in these places.
During the meeting, it was also proposed that CBB should take a team of two people from each country, i.e. Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda to visit INISMA (Tableegh Institution) in Antananarivo, Madagascar; they have good operating systems and development initiatives in the field of Tableegh and in reaching out to the masses. We can share ideas and learn from each other.
Alhaj Mohsin Laji has vast experience in the field of Tableegh having been involved in similar activities for the past many years; likewise Alhaj Inayat Alidina has a wide experience in organizational and administrative fields. Both have shown great interest and determination in developing further the external Tableegh sector of AFED, and also in developing a sound management and operating systems in Bilal Muslim Mission.
We pray for them and for a very successful mission, Insha’allah.
