Thanks to their far-sighted visions, devotions and sacrifices, Mombasa Jamaat has reached where it is today. These noble individuals have not only served Mombasa Jamaat but have extended their services to the wider community all over East Africa and beyond.
From our early settlement on the Kenya coastal belt in Lamu and Mombasa dating back to 1840’s and 1880’s, the community in Mombasa has produced towering personalities who have played significant roles on the evolution of our community as well as the development of the country. Today we reap the benefits of the epic contributions and of their wisdom, vision and sacrifices.
In the formation of this Club, back in 1920’s, we must recall and pay tribute to the founding members and the driving forces of the young men of those days, namely: Mulla Hassanali G. Khaki, Alhaj Habib Abdulla Janmohamed, Alhaj Hussein Karim Hirjee and Alhaj Abdullah Alimohamed Khalfan.
For your vision, dedication and enthusiasm, I would like to congratulate the Mombasa Community and all those locally and from outside Mombasa who have, in one form or the other, been instrumental in the development of this project.
Similarly, I would like to congratulate the leadership of the Mombasa Jamaat headed by Alhaj Sajjad Rashid, Office bearers of the Jamaat, members of the Managing Committee, Trustees of the Jamaat, members of the Development Committee and each and every member of the Mombasa Jamaat for this great achievement.
This magnificent project undertaken by Mombasa Jamaat is to meet the present and future housing needs of the Community with 108 flats that will also provide shelter to the needy and deserving members of the community.
