Dear Brothers/Sisters,
Salaamun Alaikum
THE KHOJA SHIA ITHNA-ASHERI LAMU PROPERTIES RESTORATION PROJECT
We are pleased to circulate the enclosed report on the Lamu Restoration Project; the project which started in August 2011 comprises of the restoration of the properties belonging to the Khoja Shia Ithna Asheri Community in Lamu, Kenya. These renovation works were carried out under the able management and supervision of our Mombasa based Trustee, Alhaj Sultan Molu.
The enclosed Report provides a brief history of Lamu and the restoration works completed under Phase One, also includes some historical sites.
It is important for us as a Community to preserve and maintain our Jamaat properties as these are our heritage and assets, and more importantly in those cities and towns where population of our community members have dwindled and in some places there are no Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri families, for example Lamu.
We wish to inform you that in Phase Two, the Lamu Project shall include the remaining restoration and construction works to make them fully habitable, and protect these properties from destruction.
We welcome donations towards this Project. Huquq funds (Sahme Imam A.S.) can be utilized towards these works. Our estimation of the balance of works may require up to United States Dollars Fifty Thousand (US$50,000.00). Please email: secretariat@africafederation.org
We look forward to your generous support and cooperation.
With Salaams and Duas,
Aunali Khalfan
Hon Secretary
