The Federation of KSI Jamaats of Africa (AFED) strongly condemns the desecration of the tomb of Hujr ibn Adi al Kindi (RA) and the demolition of the shrine in Adra, Syria carried out wantonly by the extremist rebel forces. Adra is located north of Damascus.
The news received states that extremists rebel forces in Syria carried out the desecration and demolition on Sunday, the 28th April, 2013 and that they dug open the grave in a failed attempt to locate and exhume the body.
Hujr ibn Adi al Kindi (RA) was a distinguished, pious and loyal companion of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) and Imam Ali (AS). He stood firm against the tyranny of the despotic Umayyad Ruler, Muawiya ibn Abu Sufyan.
The World Federation is endeavouring to obtain more information about this vandalism.
The Africa Federation in collaboration with the World Federation intend to bring this wanton act of desecration and vandalism to the attention of bodies like UNESCO World Heritage Centre, The International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) and other International Organizations.
We request members of the Community to pray for the safety of our Holy Shrines.
