New Issue of Federation Samachar Available
The December, 2013 issue of the Federation Samachar (now the only global community media of the KSIJ community) is on sale from 17th Rabi ul Awwal, 1435 in Dar es Salaam. Copies will be sent to Jamaats in Africa, Europe, India, Australia and North America by the Africa Federation (AFED), Council of European Jamaats (CoEJ) and NASIMCO.
This 96 page issue carries news and views (from at least eight correspondents) from around the world and two special tribute articles for Marhum Ebrahimbhai Sheriff and Marhum Mulla Asgherali M.M. Jaffer.
Read about Reunion (UAKSIR)’s membership with AFED and updates about the community’s current development projects. Features such as Obituaries, the Black and White column’s contrasting views on our preachers and the achievements of a visually impaired youth will inspire you.
News articles in this issue include features on how our community is reaching out to the outside community – youth from the Council of European Jamaats volunteering in Kibaha (Tanzania); charity projects such as eye camps sponsored by the Bilal Muslim Mission in Kenya and Tanzania; the efforts of the Mohsin and Fauzia Jaffer Foundation to provide medical treatment to 20,000 Kenyans in rural areas through a Mobile Clinic run by the Jaffery Medical Clinic; the NASIMCO Secretary-General’s visit to the U.S. White House and the Africa Federation delegation’s visit to the Indian High Commission in Dar es Salaam.
Peruse the history of indentured workers from India who were exported from India in the 19th and 20th Century to work in slave-like conditions. Also read other thought-provoking articles on time management, corporal punishment in schools and the issue of seeking better management of charity proceeds.
Do not miss this issue. This copy has archival value that one can only preserve by way of actually having a copy in hand.
