MAULANA SYED ARIF ALI NAQVI APPOINTED HEAD OF TABLIGH OF BILAL MUSLIM MISSION OF TANZANIA
The Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania management is pleased to appoint Maulana Syed Arif Ali Naqvi as Head of Tabligh for the Mission and will be based in Dar es Salaam from this month.
Maulana completed “Faadhil-e-Fiqh”, degree in Islamic Education in 1990 in, Uttar Pradesh, India. He further pursued his Masters studies in Arabic grammar and Islamic Education in Qum, Iran.
In 1995/1996 worked as teacher at ‘Jamiatul Muntazar’ Madressah at Nawgavan Saadat, Uttar Pradesh, India.
In January 1997 Maulana Syed Arif arrived in Tanzania when he was posted as a Resident Aalim for the Songea Jamaat, he served the Jamaat for 3 years.
In December 1999, Maulana was transferred to Mwanza where he served the Jamaat for 7 ½ years carrying out his duties diligently including visiting other organizations and institutions in keeping good public relationship. He took keen interest in teaching the Holy Qur’an.
In June 2007 he moved on from Jamaat to Bilal Muslim Mission, where he was appointed as the Principal/Mudeer of ‘Hawza e Imamul Qaem’ in Bilal Muslim Mission – Tanga branch, where he was involved in the Hawza and in propagation of Madh’ab of Ahlulbayt (A.S.) in Tanga region. He oversaw the introduction of some of the Bilal Mission Centres during this period and taking keen interest in developing the activities and visiting regularly the centres within Tanga Region.
Notable among his achievements in Tanga were in tutoring and developing successfully two batches of Scholars up to degree level of Mubaligheens, hence creating a unique Hawza in the history of Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania. He used Arabic language as the teaching medium in all the subjects and has also initiated a Hawza for Women in Bilal – Tanga branch.
During his tenure at Bilal Muslim Mission – Tanga branch, Maulana introduced daily lectures, and Question & Answer sessions for Media which were being broadcasted on Radios ‘Maarifa’ and ‘Mwambao’.
In recognition of his dedicated services and commitment to his role, the Chairman of Bilal Muslim Mission in Tanga, Alhaj Hasnain Hassanali, awarded Maulana with a Certificate of Appreciation at the gathering to bid him farewell. After serving Bilal Muslim Mission Tanga Branch for 7 years, from 2007 to February 2014, he is now appointed as the Head of Tabligh of Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania, based at the Mission Head Office in Dar es Salaam.
Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania has seven (7) branches and sixty six (66) centres in Tanzania which are widely spread across the country.
