On the auspicious occasion of the Birth Anniversary of the Holy Prophet (SAWW), we extend our heartiest felicitations to all Community members. On this occasion, we are pleased to announce the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Africa Federation and KSI Jamaat of Dar Es Salaam on Tuesday, 21st November 2017 at the Jamaat Conference Room in Dar Es Salaam.
This is an important housing project which is undertaken jointly by Africa Federation, the World Federation and Dar Es Salaam Jamaat, for the members of Dar Es Salaam Jamaat.
The building will be constructed on the two Dar Es Salaam Jamaat plots along Uhuru Street, measuring 9,800 sq. ft. The tentative plan is for a 10 storey building, subject to final plans being approved. The building shall have 45 apartments, car park facilities, two lifts, standby Generators and a commercial space on the ground floor. Each floor will have four residential apartments of 3 bedrooms and one apartment of 4 bedrooms. More details will be available when the final drawings and plans are completed by the Architects.

The project will be managed by the Afed Economic and Housing Development Board which is headed by Br. Akil Hirji. This Board consists of dedicated members, who are committed to these initiatives.
Process to obtain the necessary permits and permissions from the Government and local authorities have begun. Plans and Drawings for the building will be prepared, followed by a process of tendering for the construction of the building. Appointment of Architect and Surveyors and selection of a contractor will be completed by March/April 2018. The project will take approx 36 months to complete.
Dar Es Salaam Jamaat, having the largest population of Khoja Shia Ithna Asheries in the continent of Africa have much bigger and dire need for the housing for its members, especially considering the present environment in that prices for new apartments are high whilst the income have reduced due to the adverse economic conditions prevailing.
We are grateful to the World Federation office bearers and the Executive Councillor of the World Federation, Alhaj Ahmed Daya of UK for their continuous support and encouragement, enabling us to pursue these projects in our Jamaats in Africa.
We pray to Allah (SWT) to grant them more Tawfeeqat and strength to continue with the good work they are doing. We also pray for the leadership and Board Members of Africa Federation, Dar Es Salaam Jamaat, well-wishers and supporters – May Allah (SWT) grant them all more Tawfeeqat, good health and success, Ameen.
