It was a good opportunity to visit Tanga Bilal Branch with the visitors from the office of Ayatollah Al Seyed Ali Husseini Al Sistani (May Allah [SWT] grant him good health, long life and tawfeeq] in Najaf, Iraq on 7th April 2018. The delegation included Sheikh Amjad Abbas, Sheikh Nazar Salman, the Vice Chairman of AFED, Alhaj Aunali Khalfan, the World Federation Executive Councillor, Alhaj Ahmed Daya and the Chairman of Central Bilal Board, Alhaj Mohsin Lalji.
The delegation had a meeting with the Chairman of Bilal Tanga Branch, Alhaj Hasnain Hassanali; his Board Members at Bilal Tanga head office. Present were also the Mudir, Sheikh Amir Kipingo, Seyed Mansoor, Asst. Mudir and Sheikh Hamza Omari. Hasnain Bhai provided a brief history of the development of Bilal Tanga Branch since 2001 which has now 37 Centres and 3 Hawzas located in Tanga and Pangani areas. The Branch has grown from strength to strength providing religious, humanitarian and social services, including Madressahs and Hawzas (religious schools). The founder members of Bilal Tanga Branch were Marhum Jaffer Bhai Dalal, may Allah (SWT) grant him maghferat and Alhaj Naushad Hassanali, later others joined in.
Bilal Tanga has six nursery schools at its centres headed by a qualified teacher Mrs. Shaheen Dhirani, the Centre also emphasizes on secular education including Vocational course for boys and girls.
Hasnain bhai explained the present constraints of space particularly for girls Hawza where currently there are 60 students, Alhamdulillah; Bilal Tanga Branch has acquired a plot close by the present Hawza for development. The visit also witnessed the Stone-Laying Ceremony of the Hawza Building which will be an extension of the Girls Hawza once completed. The building will have 8 storey with the ground floor for administration etc. Bilal Tanga Branch through the CBB and AFED welcomes donations for this noble project in Tanga. The Construction of this Project will be undertaken by the Economic and Housing Development Board of Africa Federation.
Hasnain bhai was very pleased to welcome the high delegation visiting Bilal Tanga Branch. The discussion centered on Administrative Structure, Curriculum and Resources, both human and financial.
The Chairman of the Central Bilal Board, Alhaj Mohsin Lalji also gave brief information of Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania and the various projects being undertaken and the future plans for development in Tanzania. He stressed on the need to develop our own Muballighs and requested the visitors for assistance.
The AFED Vice Chairman, Alhaj Aunali Khalfan expressed his appreciation to Bilal Tanga Branch for the efforts and progress, especially their focus in the development of the Hawzas in training students so that they are able to stand on their feet and become self-reliant in the future.
We are grateful for the support and cooperation from the World Federation and the tremendous efforts by the WF Executive Councillor, Alhaj Ahmed Daya, the Central Bilal Board (CBB), Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania and our well-wishers and supporters.
