The World Federation 15th Ordinary Conference held from 5th to 7th May 2017 was successfully hosted by the K.S.I. Jamaat of Dar-es-Salaam under the auspices of the Federation of K.S.I. Jamaats of Africa; it was attended by nearly 200 participants, including invitees from different parts of the World, including Africa. This Conference also witnessed the change at the helm of the World Federation, as Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi takes over from Dr. Asgher Moledina.
The Africa Federation delegation was led by the Chairman; Alhaj Shabir Najafi and was represented by five Councillors and 20 Delegates from Mainland Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Madagascar, Reunion and DRC – Congo.
Following reflection on verses from the Holy Qur’an, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Br. Sajjad Dharamsee provided brief information on the various services and arrangements made for the Conference and he also introduced the volunteers of the various sections, including reception, accommodation, catering, and transport etcetera.

Welcome address was delivered by the President of the host Dar Es Salaam Jamaat, Alhaj Azim Dewji followed by speeches delivered by Chairmen of the Regional Federations who spoke on various subjects and the challenges they face in their respective regions. Alhaj Shabir Najafi, Chairman of Africa Federation emphasized to the World body to work inwardly and focus on the economic development, education and housing especially in Africa where such needs are huge due to the economic conditions prevailing. He cited the need for housing in particular to facilitate families who would be first time house owners.

Elections:
The highlight of the Conference was the handing over of the World Federation Chair from Dr. Asgar Moledina to Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi for the ensuing term of office; 2017 – 2020.

Awards
The Chairman of Africa Federation conferred the Hydery Medal the top most Medal in the institution to Dr. Asgher Moledina for his distinguished and exemplary services and his significant contribution to the development of the Community for many years. The Citation was read out by the Hon. Asst. Secretary, Alihassan Kassam and the Medal was conferred by Shabir Najafi, in the presence of the President Elect of the WF, Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi and AFED Office Bearers.
The Secretariat also presented Dr. Asgar Moledina and Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi a traditional Masai Shawl to acknowledge their dedicated services and contributions in the development of our Community and Institutions.
The Dar-es-Salaam Jamaat presented an Appreciation Award to Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi for his contribution and support to the Jamaat.
The President of the World Federation, Dr. Asgher Moledina presented Appreciation Awards to the following for their valuable contributions, services and devotion to the World Federation and in its various sectors during his tenure of eight years.

Deliberations
Various Reports, Strategic Papers, Accounts and Resolutions were presented by the WF Secretariat and Sectional Secretaries for deliberations and adoption; these sessions went on for long hours pass mid night, the longest and intensely debated was the report presented by the North Star Project team.
