The Africa Federation Hon Secretary Hussein bhai Karim travelled to Antananarivo, Madagascar on 9th September 2017 and joined the Momineen there for the Eid –e-Ghadeer celebrations. On Sunday 10th September 2017, he attended the Opening Ceremony of the Zainabiya Orphanage and the Foundation Laying Ceremony for the Housing project.
The Hon Secretary addressed the Momineen on the auspicious occasion of the Eid-e-Ghadeer and delivered a short message from the AFED Chairman Alhaj Shabir Najafi on the importance of higher education for all our children both male and female, the importance on ownership of housing, and the need to donate and collect funds internally to assist in local projects.
The Zainabiya Orphanage has been constructed and will be run by INISMA – the Bilal Muslim Mission equivalent in Madagascar with a capacity of accommodating 70 children. Presently 49 Orphans (25 girls and 24 boys) have already been sheltered there.
Foundation Laying Ceremony – Housing Project Antananarivo
The Hon Secretary held a joint meeting with the Managing Committee of the Conseil Regional Des Khojas Shia Ithna-Asheri Jamates De L’Ocean Indien (CROI) on Sunday 10th September 2017, issues discussed included the Housing Project, representation of CROI to the AFED Boards, Leadership Development Program (LDP) and Madrasah Centre of Excellence (MCE), implementation of AFED Resolutions.
We are very thankful to the Chairman of CROI Alhaj Sheikh Haniphe Akbaraly and his team, Chairman of INISMA Alhaj Mohamedraza Khamis and his team for the good reception and warm hospitality extended to the Africa Federation Hon Secretary.
We pray to Allah (SWT) to grant the community leaders, volunteers and members of our community further inspiration and more strength to continue with the noble work they do for the pleasure of Allah (SWT) and to ascend to greater heights of success in their endeavors – Ameen.
