In line with the Africa Federation Chairman’s vision to deliver 200 units of housing to our community members in Africa, we are pleased to announce the take-off of the Housing Project in Antananarivo, Madagascar.
The AFED Chairman, Alhaj Shabir Najafi met recently in Mombasa, Kenya with the Chairman of Conseil Regional of Madagascar (CROI), Sheikh Haniphe Akbaraly who is also the Vice Chairman of Africa Federation from Madagascar, the Chairman of Reunion Association (UAKSIR) who is also the Vice Chairman of Africa Federation from Reunion, the World Federation President, Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi, the AFED Nominated Councillor from Madagascar, Alhaj Navazaly Molou for the finalization of the plan and scheme of the housing project in Antananarivo. Also present was the Vice Chairman of Africa Federation, Alhaj Aunali Khalfan, the AFED Housing Development Board Chairman, Alhaj Akil Hirji and the CROI Board Member, Alhaj Zoher Vally. The meeting endorsed the plan to go ahead with the project.
This project is a quadripartite project between the World Federation, Africa Federation, Conseil Regional and Antananarivo Jamaat.

The plot measuring 925 sq.m has been purchased jointly by CROI and Antananarivo Jamaat for the Rent-to-Own scheme for the first time buyers’ members of our community, to provide them with decent and reasonably priced apartments in Antananarivo city. WF and AFED will provide the initial bridging loan of equal amounts, the cost for the plot shall be provided equally by CROI and Antananarivo Jamaat.
The project will consist of 30 apartments; 5 floors with 6 apartments per floor (2 units 3-BDK and 4 units 2-BDK) and a parking lot on the ground floor to accommodate 30 cars. The project will take 18 months to complete and has been awarded to a renowned French construction company, COLAS.
This will be another Rent-to-Own housing scheme project in the recent time, the first being Al Asghery Residency in Dar es Salaam. The project will facilitate middle-income earners to eventually become house owners. This is a historical moment for AFED and CROI who have initiated this Joint Housing project in Madagascar with the support of our parent body, the World Federation of KSIMC. We hope and pray more projects will come on stream in the coming months – Insha’allah.
CROI and Antananarivo Jamaat will work jointly through a committee to process the applications from the members who meet the criteria for the allocation of the apartments, and will prepare the agreements to for prudence and posterity.
The Housing Project Team consists of the following members of Antananarivo Jamaat:
- Br. Ferid Ismael
- Br. Ashfak Vallimamod
- Br. Goulam Lakhoubay
