Education can empower women to become leaders as they acquire literacy, confidence and communication skills. It can give them a space to learn about and practice leadership. According to an article prepared by United Nation (UN) Women, Rural women are key agents for achieving the transformational economic, environmental and social changes required for sustainable development. Empowering them is key not only to the well-being of individuals, families and rural communities, but also to overall economic productivity, given women’s large presence in the agricultural workforce worldwide.

COMMENTS:
“It is important for me to work in order to provide for my family. Due to lack of much knowledge and exposure, the concept I had of running a business would mostly lead to a downfall thus incurring losses. After attending the Business Management training I have gained a handful of information which I can implement to boost my income” – Saumu Chizi, Chengoni Centre.
“From the training, I have learnt that meeting up Weekly is essential to keep the group active. For members to achieve their goals it is important to respect and understand one another as members are the main foundation of the group” – Mwanasiti Shee, Bahakanda Centre.
“I would like to thank Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya for organizing the Business Management Training. During the course of the training I have learnt the various factors to be considered when conducting a profitable business. This knowledge will help me and all members with our daily income generating activities”. – Hadija Kalu, Chengoni Centre.
