All the best intentions in the world do not lead to change and improvement, what it does give is a good structure and a facilitated, participative approach. Selecting the right people is critical for an organization creating a pool of Facilitators. Facilitators in meetings and projects dramatically improves productivity and effectiveness, and a strategically deployed pool of Facilitators will have a major impact in any organization.
The CBG Facilitator Development Programme is an intensive and in-depth course of study to meet the needs of a growing worldwide network of facilitators. The content is powerful and the practices are transformative. It is a 3-day course that will give the widening community of facilitators support of each other through shared resources and experiences and guidance from the coach/ mentor.
The second session of Facilitator Development programme (FDP) facilitated by Br. Shabbirhussein Khalfan and Ms. Maria Pattinson was held in Arusha on the 28th February to 1st March 2020 comprising of 18 participants including 7 participants from the previous FDP in 2018 for an upskills session.
At the end of 3 days the development facilitators in training grasped the concept on the difference between teaching, training and facilitation, understood how adults learn and develop, group dynamics, awareness of power, knowing the differences of content and process and its application, variety of process tools used by facilitators and courteous facilitation conduct. Simultaneously, the upskills development facilitators benefited from Maria Pattinsons’ coaching delving into the in-depths of facilitation.
Being selected as a facilitator is a fantastic development opportunity and CBG counts on engaging and supporting the next generation of knowledgeable facilitators.
We wish to thank all the participants for attending and contributing positively during the session and warmly welcome them on a remarkable journey of facilitation.
Our sincere appreciation the Africa Federation Office Bearers for their immense support, cooperation and guidance.
