In Tanzania, with a population of 59.6 Million, 49.1% of Tanzanians live below USD $1.90 per day with the life expectancy of 64 years.
Agriculture cultivation and animal keeping which employs about 65% of the population, has been the backbone of the families and community of Tanzanians as a means to fight against poverty.
Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania realized the trend and engaged in providing assistance to economically upliftment its members as the means of reducing life hardship as well as improving life standard of the Shia Community.
Ten families at four Bilal centers in the Lake Zone villages were assisted with five goats each as goat keeping project to eradicate poverty.
All ten recipient families were sincerely thankful to the donors for this assistance as it will take them a long way and help the families their day to day needs.
To date, more than 40 families have been involved in this project and many have managed to solve their needs like children education, medical needs and other family needs.
Domestic animal farming, being a cultural heritage, is easily adaptable. Also goats reproduce twice per annum so the number can multiply almost four times in just two years.
A three-year-old goat is averagely sold for Tsh 60,000 up to 75,000, hence this assistance is a good investment to economically upliftment or empower a village family.
May Almighty Allah (SWT) reward the donors abundantly here and in the hereafter, Ameen.
