MIND OF A WINNER – PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT/GROWTH
Personal development is applicable to people in all walks of life. Whether you are a student, studying to get a degree, an employee; looking to earn a promotion in an organization, or, the CEO of a firm, looking to create effective business solutions that will put your business on the map, personal development is for you. As a matter of fact, you can’t build wealth or make significant headway in your career without developing yourself through an effective personal development plan.
So, what is personal development?
In a very basic sense,
the definition of personal development comes down to a process of making
yourself better and your life circumstances.
Of course, the exact process involved varies.
You could read books, take courses, attend conferences, go to college, listen to podcasts, and so on.
It’s worth mentioning that the content involved varies as well. One person might take a course in a stereotypical self-development topic, such as boosting your confidence.
Someone else might be focused on books about wealth creation, or lifestyle design.
Another person could learn a new language, or pursue a master’s degree.
Overall, personal development can be described as picking up any skills and/or insight that improve your life, while letting go of those that make it worse.
Why personal development should be a priority?
1.It forces you out of your comfort zone
If there are aspects of your life that you do not like, or are not good at, those are the areas of improvement that a personal development plan can help you develop on. Confronting these areas and improving on them can help to push you out of your comfort zone. This allows you to experience growth and to improve your skills.
2. It develops your strengths
A personal development plan not only helps you to progress on your weaknesses, but it can also help you to develop your strengths. If you are constantly developing yourself you will ultimately become the best version of yourself. You must keep learning new things to keep up with the ever-changing world. Personality development improves your chances of success in any undertaking-because you have the right mindset are goal-oriented and likable.
3. It boosts your confidence
Making the decision to improve on your skills takes you a step closer to feeling more confident. Once you have achieved a certain goal, gained another skill, or developed a certain area of your life, you naturally feel good about yourself. The more you keep on developing in the areas of your life you are not confident in, the more you can boost your confidence.
4. It improves your self-awareness
Personal development is closely linked to self-awareness. It gives you the opportunity to take an honest look at the areas of your life that need improvement. Through this process, you get to know who you really are, what your true values are, and where you would like to go in life.
Steps on embarking on the journey of personal development:

• Look for the areas of improvement in order for you to reach these goals.
