The Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania Ikwiriri branch organized Muharram program at the Ahlul Bayt centre, the program started with Ashura procession, Majalis followed with blood drive donation as a part of the commemoration of the Death of Imam Hussein (a.s), grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.w). The events were attended by the community members from different places in Rufiji District.
ASHURA PROCESSION
Ashura is a solemn day of mourning the martyrdom of Hussein in 680 AD in Karbala, Iraq. The Ashura Day procession started from the Madrasat Zainul Abidin (a.s) to the Madras Ahlul Bayt (a.s). many believers attended the procession to mourn the death of Imam Hussein (a.s) all with one single voice -chanting “LABBAYKA YA HUSSEIN”
MAJALIS
After the procession to the Masjid Ahl Bayt (a.s), the Majalis resumed which was attended by the community members as well as Sheikh Msabaha Shabani (Tabligh Supervisor) from the Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania and the Guest of Honor District Commissioner, Hon. Patrick Sawara.
BLOOD DRIVE DONATION
After Majalis the community members donated blood as part of the remembrance of the events of Karbala. 34 bottles of blood were collected which were sent to Ikwiriri Hospital and Rufiji District Hospital, to help those in need at the hospitals.
The Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania, thanks all the community members who were involved in one way or another in carrying out these Ashura Activities.
