We are pleased to inform our community members on the latest status of the AFED Tower whose construction is progressing well as per the schedule of works. The 9th floor slab shuttering is progressing smoothly, and it is anticipated that the structure of the building will be completed by the end of November 2020 and other works of walling and finishing will continue as planned.
On 4th October 2020, the Office bearers of Africa Federation comprising of Chairman Shabir Najafi, Vice Chairman Aunali Khalfan and Secretary Zuhair Jaffer visited the site accompanied by Housing Board Chairman Akil Hirji and Vice Chairperson Shakerabai Dhanani.
The office bearers were impressed with the construction progress and the workmanship by the contractors, they emphasized on timely completion of the project to enable the AFED Offices to move to the new premises.
The project consists of basement for water storage, electrical etc., ground floor and mezzanine shall be for rental while first three floors will be for AFED head office and six floors shall be for residential apartments, each floor will consist of one apartment. The top floor will be a training centre and multi-purpose hall.
Work in Progress:
On site, other finishing works have started such as block works on the 1st floor and plaster works on the staircase area. The apartment setting up has been completed and walling is continuing.
Site Visits and Meetings:
Regular site and technical meetings are being held on site to ensure smooth and uninterrupted flow of works. All stakeholders attend these meetings and are fully involved in the project and are determined to complete the project in time and ensure quality is maintained.
