The Chairman of the Africa Federation, Alhaj Shabir Najafi is pleased to announce the appointment of Alhaj Sajjad Pyarali Walji as the Chairman of the Africa Federation Tabligh Board (AFTAB) for the remainder of the term 2019 – 2022.
Alhaj Sajjad Walji is taking the position of late Syed Hassan Abbas Naqvi who sadly passed away in Dar es Salaam on 12th February 2021. Syed Hassan Naqvi served as AFTAB Chairman diligently with great dedication since April 2010, at this juncture we request members to remember Syed Hassan with Sura-e-Fateha for his maghferat.
Brief Profile of Alhaj Sajjad Walji
Sajjad bhai was born on 29th March 1966 in Mombasa. He obtained his primary and secondary education in Mombasa before proceeding to Nairobi to pursue Bsc (Hons) in Civil Engineering at the University of Nairobi.
After the initial years of pursuing his career, he joined a spare part business – Auto Junction Limited in Mombasa which he is still managing.
He is married and blessed with 3 children
He is actively involved in Community services these are:
- 1985 – to-date – Madrasah Teacher
- 2000 – 2002 – Managing Committee Member – Mombasa Jamaat
- 2009 – 2012 – Head of IEB – Mombasa Jamaat
- Member of the Hilal Committee for the past 25 years
- Member of Funeral Committee for the past 30 years
Sajjad bhai is a well-known lecturer who began reciting majlises in 2005 and was delivering Friday sermons for a period of two years in Mombasa during the absence of the resident Alim from 2017. He also counsels couples in his own capacity since the past 10 years.
