Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya in collaboration with Helping Hands youth group conducted an Anti-Jiggers campaign on Sunday 07th February 2021.This campaign was held in a village named Ramisi Bodo in the South Coast region of Kwale County.
Outreach:
93 students of Madrassatul Qadiriya between the age ranges of 3 – 16years were treated. The treatment included washing their feet and surgically removing the jiggers. The helping hands youth group organized a meal for more than 100 children which was distributed after the treatment. This program was mainly aimed to distribute food and health support to communities affected due to Covid-19.
Other volunteers:
The Jaffery Medical team provided a medical officer who trained the volunteers of the Helping Hands Youth Group. Zainab Manzu a nurse from Jaffery Medical was also part of the campaign to treat those affected.
BMM Kenya Involvement:
With the generous support received from Comfort Aid International, Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya was able to:
- Distribute 93 pairs of shoes to children.
- Supply all medical supplies required during the program.
The team of young people from helping hands youth group have been energized for their next health clinic reaching out to other children in the area.
