INTRODUCTION
Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya arranged a joint workshop for all its Pre- Primary and I.R.E teachers at Imam Ar-Ridha Islamic Centre, Mtongwe on 21st to 28th March, 2021. A total of 39 Teachers (14 male and 25 female) attended.
OBJECTIVES
- Enhancing teachers’ professionalism through building on and polishing up their knowledge and skills.
- Acquisition of skills on the use of new technology in advancing their teaching methodologies and techniques.
- Enhancing good interpersonal skills on communication and awareness of their social responsibilities and cooperation through teamwork.
Topics covered
- Curriculum and Curriculum Development on CBC documentation and records.
- Teaching Methodologies and techniques.
- Assessment of Core Competencies and learning styles.
- ICT- Basic Computer Literacy, use of Digital content and devices in teaching.
- Report Writing.
- Islamic Studies on Fiqh, Akhlaq and Aqaid.
NB:
- Evening forums were also held where participants discussed challenges faced in their fields of work and shared ideas on networking and cooperation.
- A follow up program will commence once schools open for the new term.
- A crèche was organized for all nursing mothers and this facilitated a good and conducive learning environment for them.

CONCLUSION:
This workshop has boosted the morale of teachers to improve their professional skills and created the urge to acquire new knowledge that would help them in ameliorating their performance as well as taking up responsibilities.
