Eid- Ul- Adha, is the 10th day of Dhul Hijjah. Muslims all around the globe celebrate this day by conducting several activities such as; offering Eid prayers, slaughtering goats, distributing meat packs to the residents nearby, and visiting the elderly.
With the continued rise in numbers of Covid 19 infections BMM Kenya limited its activities to ensure all guidelines are followed with only a limited number of staff on ground to coordinate activities on this day.
Some of the activities that took place were:
- Morning Eid prayers were conducted in adherence of covid19 directives as per Ministry of Health.
- Goats were slaughtered with only few community & staff involved during slaughtering and making meat packs.
- During distribution of meat packs staff ensured that controlled number of people collected packs accordingly.
With the generous support and assistance received from various donors and organizations, Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya was able to provide 1,125 goats in total to various regions namely; 975 goats in Coast to 44 centres including 15 BMMK centres and 29 Shia Independent centres, 50 goats in Lamu, 100 goats in Kilifi and 472 Packets of 2kg meat was distributed in Mombasa.
The team of Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya appreciates the generous contribution
from all donors and well-wishers towards Eid Ul Adha activities. All measures
and directives as directed by the Ministry of Health were followed throughout
