Asya Ali Salim from 11.00 am.
This year’s Ashara Zainabiyah lectures focused on several topics, which included the role that Bibi Zainab (a.s) played after the tragedy of Karbala, and how our communities can emulate the same in their daily life to fight injustice.
The daily average attendance of men and women during the 10 days majaalis at the Bilal Hall was 120 with strict adherence to COVID 19 rules. Among the attendees were students from Madrassa Zainul Abidin, community members from Mombasa Island, Likoni, Mtongwe and Bilal Kenya’s staffs.

OUTREACH/MEDIA
All the majaalis were streamed live on the digital platforms to reach a wide range of audience. In line with the Ministry of Health guideline, the Mission was forced to scale down the number of people attending the program physically. Hence livestreaming played an important role of taking the massage of Karbala to the Ummah. There was a positive respond on both Facebook and YouTube during the 10 days of the majaalis.

RURAL CENTERS
The Mission organized similar majaalis in its centres and extended the program to some of the independent Shia centers. Several Sheikhs held Sermons, activities and classes on informing the communities of the events of Karbala and commemoration of Imam Hussein (a.s). Bilal Centers and Independent centers had 3 daily majaalis where different topics were discussed.

BLOOD DRIVE DONATION

This was a noble gesture for the residents of Likoni, Mtongwe and it’s environing to save a life by donating blood. This noble exercise enabled the Regional Blood Organization to collected 30Units of blood that was donated in remembrance of the tragedy of Karbala.

“Whoever saves a single life, it is as if they have saved all of humanity” (Quran 5:32)
AR’BAEEN STAND
There was distribution of drinking water and pamphlets containing brief information on the tragedy of Karbala during Arbaeen day. It was a random exercise on the streets of Mombasa. Bilal staffs in conjunction with other volunteers carried the exercise. The reception from locals was warm and encouraging.
