Bibi Fatemah (‘A), the daughter of our Holy Prophet (SAWW) is a beacon of light and the leader of all the women in the world. She is the role model of every woman who wants to succeed both in this world and the Hereafter. Her birthday is celebrated in all parts of the world.
At the Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya, her birthday is celebrated annually together with the birthday of her daughter Bibi Zainab (‘A) who is another great and prominent lady in Islam.
This year, the Mission organized Lady Fatemah Day on Saturday, 29th January 2022 at the Ar-Ridhwa center, Mtongwe which was a new venue, as this program was previously being held at the Bilal Hall.
Ladies from Magongo, Likoni, Kisauni and Mtongwe were invited as well as a few from our centers, i.e., Shimoni, Kichaka, Miamba and Moyeni. Approximately 170 ladies attended the program
The program started at approximately 10:30 a.m. and consisted of several activities like speeches from different speakers, qasidas, a quiz and a play to brighten the day more. There was also a question and answer session in which anyone could participate and instant cash prizes were given to the winners.
Topics discussed were:-
- Lessons from the life of Bibi Fatemah (‘A) by Sister Latifah. She talked about her exemplary life and leadership and how we should follow in her footsteps to bring out the best in our families.
- Bravery of Bibi Zainab (‘A) by Sayyedah Zena. She elaborated on the meaning of bravery and the great lessons from her life.
The quiz was about Bibi Fatemah (‘A), Bibi Zainab (‘A), Imam Mahdi (ATFS) and some fiqh masails on prayers. Ladies from Mtongwe and Zahra Madresa took part.
The program ended with dhuhrain prayers and lunch. Gifts were given to all participants in the program.
The Organizing Team would like to thank the Mission for hosting programs like these which are educative to our women and also help them to understand their position in the society.
The Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya appreciates the generous support and assistance received from various donors to ensure a successful run of this program and also thanks all those involved in the preparation and delivery of this event.
