Self-care means taking the time to do things that help you live well and improve both your physical and mental health. When it comes to your mental health, self-care can help you manage stress, lower your risk of illness, and increase your energy.
With this in mind, CBG held a webinar for the LDP Alumni on 20th March 2022. The session was based on the topic ‘Self Care – How to take care of your mental wellbeing’.
The webinar which was facilitated by Shabbirbhai Khalfan, Maryam bai Khalfan, Shama bai Dewji and Sofia bai Bharwani was attended by participants from Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Madagascar, Mombasa, Nairobi, Kinshasa, South Africa and India. The session commenced with a reflection from the verses of the Holy Qur’an followed by interactive presentations by the Facilitators.
The focus of the session was on how to cope with stress whereby different strategies were shared by the facilitators like art therapy, healthy diet, connecting with nature and meditation.
As always, the webinar was a unique experience filled with learning where best practices were shared.
We extend our gratitude to the facilitators for their optimum efforts and impactful presentation.
Our sincere appreciation also goes to each and every participant for sparing their valuable time on enhancing techniques on mental well-being and promoting their personal growth.
Participant Feedback:
- Thanks a million for an excellent session. I would recommend more people to participate in such programs where effective Selfcare strategies are imparted. This is very essential as part of our obligation to the Imam of the Time (a.t.f.s) to emphasize on self-care and wellbeing during intedhaar.
- The meditation session was very energizing. Thank-you for the powerful session.
- Truly made me realize the importance of self-care. I am especially going to take the practice of connecting with nature….”Walk to the Change”
- Loved the Art Therapy session! Ignited the inner child in me and connected me to the Creator.
