PROJECT SUMMARY:
Ramadhan is the holiest month in the Islamic Calendar. Muslims all around the globe tend to make the most during this month by engaging in various activities such as: Prayers, fasting, giving charity, and Religious devotion. Fasting is an act of discipline which promotes righteousness and he who fasts becomes aware of all divine bounties.
OUTREACH:
After two consecutive years of abiding by regulations laid by the government to control the spread of the Covid-19 Infections, this year all stringent rules were relaxed due to the massive drop in numbers of the Covid-19 infection.
With the generous support and contribution provided by various donors and well-wishers, Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya was able to distribute food parcels to 15 Bilal Kenya Centres and extended its support to 15 Independent Centres in Coast Region, and various centres from Upcountry, Malindi, Lamu and Tana River. A total of 5,170 individual families residing in rural centers received family dignity food parcels. Food parcels were distributed to ensure Mumineen have sufficient food ration to cook from home thus enabling them carry on with their fast and ibadah with ease.
MASAJID IFTAAR:
Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya also distributed Masajid Iftaar ration to 15 Bilal Kenya Centres, 22 Independent Centres and 5 prisons. The Masajid Iftaar was distributed for the beneficiary centres to cook snacks and tea for the congregation to open their fast after prayers. The total Masajid Iftaar tonnage distributed was 26.45.
The Masajid Iftaar Ration Content:
Maize Flour, Wheat flour, Sugar, Cooking Oil, Yeast, Beans, Rice, Tea & Dates.
FAMILY FOOD PARCELS:
Each Food Parcel Distributed Contained the Below Items:
- 24 Kgs of Maize flour
- 24 Kgs of Wheat flour
- 2 cans x 3 ltrs of cooking oil.
- 4 Kgs Sugar
- 4kgs of rice
- 2kg of salt
OTHER ACTIVITIES:
This year Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya managed to conduct the following activities in the month of Ramadhan:
Online Ramadhan Program:
Daily Live Qur’an Tafsir, Dua Iftitah, Ramadhan Darsa and Laylatul Qadr.
Radio Programs.
Series of 30 Fm Radio religious programs broadcasted between 19:30-20:00 E.A.T with wide coverage through Coast and some parts of upcountry.
Live Quran Tafsir sessions at 1PM every Mondays to Thursdays
Eid Gifts
New set of outfits to 301 orphans and 69 disabled children from all 15 BMMKenya Centre.
350 Eid gifts to Muballighs across the Country.
Gifts for Ladies Who Attended Ramadhan Online Darsa
No. of ladies who received gifts: 550
Fitra Distribution:
Cash gifts were sent to 681. Among them were Orphans, Widows, Disabled, Elderly and Muballighs from Independent Centre who do not have a regular income.
Quran Competition:
No. of participant: 142
No. of finalist: 60
No. centres that Participated: 15
Women online classes in the Centres:
One-hour classes were conducted four times a week for ladies from the community in all 15 BMMKenya Centres by Sis. Ruiya Salim.
