There is nothing as dynamic, exuberant and energizing as youth. It is the youth of our community who will carry on that legacy and help it achieve new heights of progress and accomplishment. These young people are full of unbridled energy, so it is crucial to harness their energy and give them the correct direction.
Youth are an integral part of any society and have an important role to play. Any society is incomplete without the participation of young blood. As it is rightly said, “youth are the force, hope and leaders of tomorrow” as they are the face of our community, society and humanity at large.
To enrich and inspire these young people in the Community, the Capacity Building Board of Africa Federation (CBG) in collaboration with Husayni Madrasah Girls’ Section of KSIJ Dar es Salaam organized a weekend programme in Dar es Salaam on 4th and 5th June 2022 on youth development (YDP). The programme was facilitated by Br. Shabbirhussein Khalfan, Sr. Shama Dewji and Developmental facilitators Sr. Soumeya Djaffar, Sr. Maryam Khalfan, Sr. Shirin Jeraj and Br. Imran Dhanani.
The 2-day program was specifically organized for Class 11 girls – the graduating class and was attended by 32 students. These participants demonstrated high level of interest and enthusiasm which made the sessions even more interesting and productive. The facilitators made the sessions interactive with different methods such as experiments, group works and presentations where the students were availed with lots of opportunities to talk about real life examples and ask questions and which all made for an enjoyable and informative course.
Such sessions are very vital for the youths as they are encouraged to voice their opinions, their views are valued and different perspectives are unfolded to them as various life-skills and coping strategies are imparted to them to impact their future.
We hope that all those who attended the training have benefitted from the knowledge gained and will share their learning experiences with others.
On behalf of the Capacity Building Group of AFED, we extend our appreciation to Husayni Madrasah Girls’ Section and KSI Jamaat of Dar es Salaam for facilitating the workshop and reaching out to the youths in the society. We are also grateful to the Jamaat for availing the venue and the amenities for the training session as well as handling the logistics in collaboration with CBG.
We also wish to thank Alhaj Aunali Khalfan (AFED Vice Chairman), our esteemed Resident Aalim Syed Adeel Raza, Alhaj Dr. Mohammedraza Dungersi (visiting guest) and Alhaj Ali Chandoo (Tabligh Vice Chairman) and other invited guests who honored the students with their presence at the certification and closing ceremony.
Syed Adeel Raza in his address at the closing ceremony mentioned that it was one of the principles in the Holy Qur’an to know oneself, to recognize and be aware of oneself which will in turn lead to one moving in the right direction gaining the proximity of Allah (s.w.t).
