- Held Milad celebrations in all Bilal Kenya centres.
Muslims around the world commemorate Milad an-Nabii, the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) who was born in Mecca year 570 CE and grew up to be a respected merchant, known for his honesty, integrity, and trustworthiness. At the age of 40, he received his first wahyi (revelation from Allah SWT). His journey as the last messenger of Allah SWT started.
PROGRAM AT BILAL HALL MOMBASA
The 5 days program ran from 11th – 15th October 2022 from 5.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. This was part of the Unity Week” celebrations themed, The Birth of The Holy Prophet (SAWW) and the Unity of Muslims.
The Key speakers included Sh. Muhammad Dumila, Syd. Twahir Muhammad and Dr. Mahmoud Shirazi (Sunni Sheikh). Two Sunni madrasahs also participated iithe Milad program held at the Bilal Hall. Daily attendance including the local community from Mombasa was 300 people. In addition, we had a big audience watching online and FM radio listeners.
MILAD UN NABII PROCESSION (ZEFE)
Milad un Nabii procession, locally known as Zefe, is an established tradition – an annual public procession to commemorate the birth of the Holy Prophet (SAWW). Muslims of all denominations participate in the walk through the Mombasa Business District. Bilal madrasahs and other Independent Centres participated in the procession alongside members of the Khoja Shia Ithna Asheri Jamaat.
MILAD AT BILAL KENYA CENTRES
All Bilal Centres, alongside other independent Shia Centres organized Milad an Nabii celebrations in their respective villages. Nearby Sunni madaris were also invited. The universal message on the importance of the unity of Muslims and to emulate the values of the Holy Prophet (SAWW) as our role model echoed across all the centres.
