CIRCULAR NO: AFED/018/22 Date: October 13, 2022
We are pleased to appoint Br. Abbasaley Mazaher Abbas as the Sectional Secretary of the Africa Federation Archives Section.

Abbasaley Mazaher Abbas – at 23 years of age has recently completed his undergraduate degree program in Doctor of Medicine at Hubert Kariuki Memorial University (HKMU). He was born and raised in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and received his nursery, primary and secondary education at the Al-Muntazir Schools in Dar es Salaam. His passion to serve the community stems from his parental support and encouragement which led him to be a part of different projects at the Jamaat and Africa Federation level.
Abbasaley is actively involved as a Madrasah teacher and serves in various capacities in several committees of the Dar
es Salaam Jamaat. His journey in community service through the Africa Federation started in 2016 when he was part of the ‘Solidarity Day’ Team and the AFTAB – Qur’an Competition Team later that year. He then joined the Archives Section under Marhum Murtaza bhai Jivraj (Karbala) where his keen interest in history, particularly Khoja Heritage and History, multiplied exponentially.
He highly regards long-term strategic planning, as he has shown through his participation in various projects at the community level, including projects in which the future of the community was being looked at whilst a strategy for the same was being formed.
Abbasaley believes that serving the community is among the core values, and that it is a great opportunity not only to serve our Creator and build a healthier community, but also adds to one’s experience and skill set. His vision remains to multiply the efforts of the Archives Section in raising awareness about the rich history amongst community members by introducing modern and creative approach and diverse medium to disseminate information, and more importantly to create interest and engagement of the youth of our community.
The Chairman and the Office Bearers of Africa Federation extend their best wishes and heartiest congratulations to Br. Abbasaley for this appointment and wish him success in his studies and career.
