The Africa Federation Office Bearers held a meeting on Wednesday 23rd November 2022 with the officials of Jaffer Family Foundation (JFF) of New York and its international arm, United Global Initiative (UGI) to discuss the various programs and initiatives of the Federation and how the two institutions would work together.
The meeting was attended by Chairman of JFF Alhaj Mohamed Taki Jaffer along with JFF Trustee Alhaj Sadique Jaffer, JFF Pakistan Lead Alhaj Asad Hemani, UGI Executive Director Dr Hasnain Walji, Africa Federation Chairman Alhaj Amine Nassor, AFED Hon. Treasurer Alhaj Zainul Chandoo, AFED Hon Secretary Alhaj Zuhair Jaffer and the immediate past Chairman of AFED, Alhaj Shabir Najafi who is also the AFED Trustee from Uganda.
The Foundation has pledged to award seven scholarships to female students as follows:
- Five Scholarships of US$5,000 per annum for female students from Tanzania for five years per student to study medicine locally in Tanzania.
- Two Scholarships of US$25,000 per annum for female students from Africa for a three-year science degree course in the USA.
The officials from the JFF held talks with the Central Health Board (CHB) Chairman Alhaj Aliraza Bandali and shared information on medical facilities available in Pakistan especially for cancer patients. JFF offered to host patients and accompanying family members at a flat that the JFF has in Karachi and also connect the Board with the hospitals in Pakistan.
The Africa Federation Office Bearers wish to record their sincere appreciation to the Jaffer Family Foundation and pray to the Almighty to grant them long healthy life with prosperity and to grant their Marhumeen maghferat and rest them amongst the chosen ones.
Let us remember the Marhumeen of the Jaffer family and all the Marhumeen with Surah-e-Fateha.
