
A delegation comprising of officials from Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya (BMMK) led by the Chairman Alhaj Iqbal Sunderji and accompanied by Alhaj Hussein Khaki, the Hon. Treasurer, Alhaj Mohammedhussein Somji, the Hon. Secretary and Alhaj Akber Kassamali, Board Member visited Tanzania for the first time after many years. The five days visit was organized by the Chairman of the Central Bilal Board (CBB), Alhaj Mohamed Hemani as one of the CBB’s plan for this term to organize exchange visits between the Bilal Muslim Missions in the region so as to provide the officials at the helm of the institutions with acquaintances of the various activities and initiatives their counterparts are involved with in external Tabligh and learn from each other initiatives. This also promotes process of exchanging ideas and experiences. There is always room for improvement and learning does not stop.
The BMMK program included visits to Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania (BMMT) Head Quarter, Bilal Centres in the Coast Region, Bilal Hawza and Bilal Comprehensive School in Temeke, Dar es Salaam. The delegation also met with the CBB Chairman and Africa Federation Office Bearers at AFED Tower office. They also had an opportunity to attend the International Islamic Conference organized jointly by the World Federation and Africa Federation, coordinated by AFED Tabligh Board (AFTAB) and hosted by Dar es Salaam KSI Jamaat on 10th and 11th March 2023.
The delegation arrived from Mombasa on 7th March. They visited Bilal Hawza at Temeke and Bilal Comprehensive School (BCS) the next day. They saw the operations of both the institutions and had discussions with the Hawza Mudiir Sheikh Muhammad Yusuf as well as the BCS Administrator Sis. Sidika Karim. In the afternoon they held a meeting with Bilal Tanzania Board at the Bilal H.Q. where detailed discussions ensued regarding the BMMT projects in Tanzania in the field of Tabligh, Microfinance and Education including other areas such as Interfaith and Public Relationships which are important elements of the functioning of the Bilal Institutions in the region.
On Wednesday, 8th March, the delegation visited one of the Bilal Centres at Ikwiriri in Dar es Salaam Coast Region which comprises of a mosque, nursery school, madrassah with a strong community of almost 300 families with 1200 heads, including women and children. They were accompanied by the Chairman of CBB, Alhaj Mohamed Hemani and the BMMT Chairman, Alhaj Hussein Karim.



On Friday 10th of March 2023, the Bilal Kenya delegation held an extensive full day round table discussion on the Bilal Kenya Achievement, restructuring, and future development plans with AFED Office Bearers and CBB (Board) members. The lunch meeting was hosted by AFED Secretariat at AFED Tower.
A full report on the visit and the agreed action plan will be exchanged between BMMK and CBB/AFED in the next few days.
