A Collaborative Initiative: CBG & Women's Board Promote Mental Wellbeing in Kampala

Secretariat

By the grace and blessings of the Almighty Allah (s.w.t), the Capacity Building Board (CBG) in collaboration with the Africa Federation Women's Board, KSI Kampala Jamaat, and Fikrafya conducted an engaging and impactful session on mental wellbeing for the ladies' community members in Kampala on Sunday, 9th February 2025. The session provided a safe and supportive space to explore the vital connection between mental, emotional, and physical health, reinforcing the importance of prioritizing mental wellbeing in our daily lives.

Led by Br. Shabbirhussein Khalfan, this interactive session focused on equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to proactively manage their mental health. Engaging discussions and reflective exercises allowed attendees to explore ways to identify early indicators of stress and develop personalized strategies to maintain emotional balance. The session encouraged open dialogue, fostering a collective commitment to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and ensuring that it remains a priority for all.

The discussions underscored the ongoing need for mental health awareness, empowering attendees with tools and techniques that can be seamlessly integrated into their daily routines. Participants left the session feeling more informed, supported, and motivated to champion mental wellbeing within their families and communities. The session also highlighted the benefits of self-awareness, stress management, and emotional resilience in fostering a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.

CBG extends its appreciation to all the ladies who attended and actively contributed to the session. We hope that the knowledge and skills gained will inspire participants to become advocates for mental wellbeing, ensuring that mental health remains a key priority for all.

We also acknowledge the Africa Federation Women's Board for their initiative and commitment to promoting holistic wellbeing, and KSI Kampala Jamaat for their support and collaboration in making this session a success. We look forward to continuing these important conversations and fostering a culture where mental health is valued and nurtured.
