The Bilal Muslim Mission of Uganda (BMMU) proudly announces the opening of the Al Zahra Tailoring Center, a facility dedicated to empowering women through skill development and fostering sustainable livelihoods.

The center was officially inaugurated on the blessed occasion of the Wiladat of Lady Fatima Zahra (SA) by Maulana Syed Ali Abbas Rizvi, Chairman of KSIJ Kampala Alhaj Shabbar Virani, Honorary Secretary of KSIJ Kampala Alhaj Riyaz Mithani and Chairman of BMMU Alhaj Afzalali Bhimani, marking a significant milestone in BMMU's mission to empower women.
About Al Zahra Tailoring Center
The center is designed to provide professional training in tailoring and garment design exclusively for women. Through this initiative, participants gain practical skills to help them secure employment or start their own businesses, promoting self-reliance and confidence.
Key Features of the Tailoring Program
Comprehensive Training: Focus on stitching, pattern-making, and garment customization.
Program Duration: A structured 6-month course offering in-depth learning.
Skill Development: Participants will learn to stitch shirts, skirts, dresses, trousers, jumpsuits, overalls, aprons, jackets, bags, and accessories.
Certification: Participants will receive certificates upon successful completion.
Mentorship: Expert instructors will guide and support trainees throughout the program.
Community Impact
The Al Zahra Tailoring Center is a step toward uplifting women in the community by offering them tools for financial independence. By reducing unemployment and fostering entrepreneurial spirit, this initiative will create a long-lasting, positive impact.
