
Launch
On the 30th of November 2024, Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya launched a computer training program at Al Mahdi Centre in Burani. The event was attended by the organization’s CEO, Brother Murtaza Jaffer and program donors, as well as by community youth and their families. The Launch marked a significant milestone in efforts to empower the local community through digital education.
The initiative aims to equip individuals with essential digital skills while ensuring access to ICT tools and infrastructure. By engaging youth in meaningful technological activities, it fosters personal and professional development. The program also focuses on expanding online education opportunities, supporting e-learning access and creating employment pathways. Additionally, it empowers local businesses and entrepreneurs through targeted ICT training.

Looking ahead
Plans include expanding the program by recruiting more students through awareness campaigns. The curriculum will also grow to include Python programming, with a focus on app and games development.
Continued investment will be essential to meet the growing demand for ICT training and to ensure the program’s infrastructure remains aligned with community needs.
This computer training program is a testament to Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya’s commitment to empowering individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the digital age. It represents a long-term investment in the community’s future, fostering technological proficiency and inspiring hope.

There cannot be better initiatives than training to empower the Bilal community students with digital skills and knowledge using the technology available.
Along with the above, it is imperative that religious lessons and training are made part of the curriculum for the student’s education, in that they learn about Islam and the Madh’ab of Ahlulbayt (‘A).
We commend the initiatives by Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya and are hopeful these investments in training will manifest better results for the future, of Bilal and the Bilal Community, Insha’allah.
