Mahdi (ATFS) Day

1446 AH / 2025

To celebrate the birth of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s) in the month of Shaban, Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya organized a celebratory function at Ar-Ridha centre in Mtongwe. Held over the weekend of Saturday the 15th and Sunday the 16th of February 2025, the event was lively and engaging and included a mini football tournament and a wonderful program comprising inspiring lectures and heartfelt qasidas, with various Sunni and Shia institutions partaking in the programs. The Sunday Gathering was livestreamed on our YouTube Channel and garnered over 100 online views.

The vibrant mix of spiritual reflection and community engagement was befitting of the celebration. Participants of the Football Tournament were appropriately awarded and the lectures and recitals highlighted the role of the Holy Qur’an, the Ahlulbayt and specifically the importance of Imam-al-Asr in Islam. There was even a surprise recital in Farsi! After the program and the observance of the Dhuhrayn Salaah, a delicious meal was served.

Memories were well-captured by the event photographer.

Sheikh Ali Bahero presented the first lecture, which included a detailed discussion on the history of the 12th Imam, the occultations and prophecies surrounding his reappearance, dhulm on a public and individual level and the authenticity and importance of Hadith Thaqalayn in reference to the 12th Imam.

We beseech Allah (swt) to hasten the reappearance of our beloved Imam, the proof and sign of the Almighty on this earth and the guardian of Islam. May he establish justice and live with the protection of Allah (swt) on the earth for a long time. Ameen.
