BMMT host Annual Seminar (2024) on Personnel Development

The Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania (BMMT) organized its highly anticipated Annual Seminar on Personnel Development from 15th to 21st December 2024, at Al-Hujjat Hall - WIPAHS in Kibaha, Pwani.

This year’s seminar brought together Muballigheen and Muballighat from across all zones in Tanzania including: Coast & South, Central, North, Zanzibar, Mwanza (Lake), Bukoba (Kagera), Tanga, and Tabora. It was a remarkable occasion that showcased the power of unity and collective learning in advancing the mission’s goals.

The seminar kicked off on 15th December 15, 2024, with a grand opening ceremony led by Alhaj AzizHussein Rajani, Chairman of BMMT Coast & South Zone. The first session of the seminar was a presentation on "Core Islamic Studies and Tabligh Issues" by Sheikh/Dr. AbdulRazak Amir of Ahlul-Bayt Centre, setting the tone for the days ahead. The presentations and discussions that followed were enlightening, with a focus on enhancing personal and community development in line with the mission’s vision.

Over the course of six days, various modules were presented to the attendees, aimed at enhancing their skills and understanding in several crucial areas:

Leadership & Community Management: Led by Br. Shabbirhussein Khalfan, Director of WIPAHS and Chairman of the AFED Capacity Building Board, this module focused on the principles of effective leadership and managing community affairs with wisdom and responsibility.

Safe Guarding & Child Protection: This essential module provided valuable insights into the protection of vulnerable groups, especially children, and how to create safe spaces within communities.

Holistic Personal & Community Development: Br. Shabbirhussein Khalfan also facilitated this session, addressing the importance of personal growth alongside the development of a strong, cohesive community.

Teaching Skills & Curriculum Development: Co-facilitated by Sis. Zaheera Raza and Mr. Rashid Sultan, Principal at Brightlise Pre & Primary School Kibaha. This module focused on enhancing teaching methodologies and developing effective curricula to improve educational standards within the mission.

Entrepreneurship Skills: Mr. Evans Alexander Chipindi took the lead in facilitating this session, equipping the attendees with practical knowledge to start and manage businesses, thus contributing to their economic self-sufficiency.

Unlike previous years, when each zone hosted its own seminar, this year’s seminar gathered all zones under one roof, creating a unique opportunity for networking, collaboration, and experience-sharing. This new format proved to be a resounding success, fostering greater unity among the participants and aligning them more closely with the mission’s objectives.

The seminar culminated in a heartfelt closing ceremony on Saturday 21st 2024. Alhaj AbdulWahid Mohammed, Vice Chairman of BMMT, attended the ceremony in his capacity as Chairman of the MEMA Foundation, which has generously supported the seminar. Also present were prominent figures including Alhaj Hussein Karim, Chairman of BMMT; Br. Hafidhi Mansour, Chief Operations; Sheikh Msabaha Mapinda, Head of the Tableegh Department; and Alhaj Mohamedhussein Rajani (Haji Saheb) - Founder of WIPAHS.
