In line with the 2022-2025 term objectives, the Central Health Board (CHB) set forth a vision to establish both Life and Health Insurance Schemes for our community members across Africa. Alhamdulillah, we are pleased to inform that the Life Insurance Scheme, known as AfedLife, has been successfully implemented and is fully operational. The CHB is diligently monitoring the scheme’s progress, and we look forward to sharing the third Quarter report in the coming days.
Current Focus
Health Insurance Scheme for Tanzanian Jamaats:
With respect to the Health Insurance Scheme, our current efforts are concentrated on delivering this service to member Jamaats within Tanzania. Although it was initially our hope to create a universal scheme, logistical limitations, including pricing disparities, insurance availability, geographical challenges and service range, have guided us to a country specific approach.
To ensure this scheme aligns with the needs of our members, we recently conducted a comprehensive survey among region Jamaats in Tanzania. This survey aimed to capture member requirements and expectations and to collect valuable data to aid in the development of a Request for Proposal (RFP) tailored to the community's needs.
Survey Outcomes and Next Steps
The survey results have been thoroughly analyzed, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to all members who spent their time to complete it. Your insights and feedback have been crucial in advancing the preliminary stages of our Health Insurance Scheme. This collective effort has brought us closer to our goal of ensuring accessible and comprehensive health coverage for all Jamaats in Tanzania.
Statistics
The statistics below are the outcome of the survey.
Stay tuned for further updates as we continue working towards a health insurance solution that meets our community’s unique needs.
