Sayyida Murtaza Jetha – A Shining Example of Academic Excellence

The Education Board of Africa Federation proudly celebrates Sayyida Murtaza Jetha from Arusha Jamaat for her outstanding accomplishments. A graduate of the University of Portsmouth, Sayyida has been recognised as the top student in Postgraduate Accounts and Finance. Her success reflects resilience, dedication, and the pursuit of excellence.

From an early age, Sayyida was captivated by the logical nature of accounting and finance. Her passion for the field arises from its potential to drive impactful decisions while upholding ethical financial standards. Guided by her faith in Allah and the unwavering support of her family, she has excelled in both academic and professional settings.

Sayyida’s academic journey is marked by notable achievements. She graduated as the top student in her master’s program and excelled in her ACCA studies, topping six papers to earn the prestigious title of top ACCA affiliate. Balancing her ACCA qualification with a full-time job was challenging, but it instilled in her a sense of perseverance. Her master’s dissertation, “The Impact of Creative Accounting on the Credibility of Financial Statements,” reflects her commitment to ethical practices in finance and her desire to uphold transparency in financial reporting.

In her professional career, Sayyida works as an external auditor at a reputable firm in the UK. Her university experience equipped her with skills such as analytical thinking, problem-solving, and time management which she applies daily in her role. Her commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy reflects her belief in the role of ethical financial practices.

Sayyida draws inspiration from her parents’ sacrifices, her husband’s support, and the Quranic principle: “And whoever puts their trust in Allah, He will suffice them” (Quran 65:3). This verse emphasises her belief that hard work and trust in Allah are key to achieving success.

Looking ahead, Sayyida envisions herself taking on leadership roles in external auditing, mentoring young finance professionals, particularly Muslim women, and championing education as a tool for empowerment. Her message to aspiring students is one of encouragement:

“Always give 100% and trust in Allah’s plan for you. Education is one of the greatest gifts, it opens doors to endless opportunities. Surround yourself with supportive people who believe in you, and let their positivity drive you toward your dreams. And never underestimate the power of dua, turning to Allah for guidance is essential to overcoming challenges and achieving success.”

Sayyida’s story inspires others to work hard and stay true to their values while striving for success. Her achievements show the importance of dedication, determination, and aiming for excellence, creating a lasting example for future students in the community. The Education Board of Africa Federation extends its heartfelt congratulations to Sayyida on this remarkable achievement and wishes her continued success in all her future endeavours.
