It was on the 27th day of the Holy Month of Ramadhan 1437 AH, 3rd July 2016; a special and spectacular event took place which will go into the history of the Khoja Shia Ithna Asheri community. The Baraza Kuu la Waislamu Tanzania (BAKWATA) and the Khoja Shia Ithna Asheri Jamaat of Dar es Salaam organized an Interfaith Iftaar program at the Shia mosque from 5.30 pm onwards.

The Dar es Salaam Jamaat under the leadership of Alhaj Azim Dewji and the Managing Committee organized a memorable Iftaar program at the Khoja Shia Ithna Asheri mosque along the Indira Gandhi Street. This program was organized to foster closer ties and bring people from different faiths and sects together to break the Ramadhan fast together.

The Chief Guest of the function was Hon. Kassim Majaliwa, Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania.

Mombasa Jamaat Organizes Intra Faith Iftar Program

The Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Jamaat of Mombasa organized an Intra Faith Iftar Program on Saturday 18th June 2016 (12th Mahe Ramadhan 1437) at Jaffery Islamic Centre (JIC), in Mombasa. All members of our community were invited to this function.
 
The program commenced at 5.00 p.m. with recitation of verses of the holy Qur’an by Ustad Aliakbar and a welcome address by Sheikh Mudhar Khitami, Head of Supreme council of Kenya Muslims. This followed with enlightening speech by the visiting Scholar from U.S.A., Sayed Ammar Nakshwani.

KSIJ Mwanza Graveyard

 
Africa Federation Secretariat has been requested by the KSI Jamaat of Mwanza to circulate the following message:
 
The Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Jamaat of Mwanza is presently undertaking the task of refurbishing the graves, and making them into one standardized type so that the maximum use of the Kabrastan ground can be made in the best way possible.
 
The Jamaat is requesting for assistance from ex-residents of Mwanza Jamaat to provide details of their marhumeen buried in Mwanza so that they can update their database with the correct details, as some of the graves are missing details of the names and dates.
