BILAL TANZANIA CONDUCTS FREE EYE CAMP AT KIBAHA
17-18TH SEPTEMBER 2011
A Free Eye Camp was conducted under Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania at WIPAHS Centre in Kibaha, 32 km away from Dar es Salaam on 17 & 18th September 2011 and the following diseases were diagnosed from nine hundred patients screened.
705 pairs of spectacles were issued and 175 units of medicines were prescribed. 30 pairs of sunglasses were also given. Vitamin B and Vitamin A were given to 30 and 9 patients respectively. Ten patients received Multi-Vitamins.
The doctors/opticians who attended the above camp were Subira, Juma, Wahida, Maymarina, Madson, and Jaffer. Incidentally, due to breakdown of eye microscope Dr. Hassan could only carry out 12 surgeries. The surgeries were sponsored by Beta Charitable Trust of UK.
Our regular volunteers who aided in running the camp smoothly were Sadik Merali, Ayn Sheriff, Ali Merali, Kazim Jiwa, Nurdin Kanji, Mushtaq Fazal, Mohamed Jessa, Chirag Walji, Asif Walji, Abbas Sikandar, Mudassir Alloo, drivers Saleh and Ali and helpers Saleh and Edvin. Ladies in attendance were Mama Keki, Leila Merali, Zamina, Rumina, Aliya and Shermin.
Our thanks and appreciations go to Kitchen Staff, Nurses, and Security team specially Ali, Dilshadbai, Major, and Jabir. We also thank WIPAHS for facilitating the camp in Kibaha.
