It was dubbed as a historical occasion, when the Chairman of the Federation of Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Jamaats of Africa while on an official visit to the Conseil Regional Des Khojas Shia Ithna-Asheri Jamates De L’Ocean Indien (Regional Council of Madagascar) bestowed the Africa Federation prestigious Husseini and Abbasi medals to four members of Antananarivo Jamaat of Madagascar at the Imambargha during the wiladat of our Holy Prophet (SAWW) on 9th February 2012 (17th Rabi’ul Awwal 1433) in Antananarivo.
To witness this momentous occasion was the Representative of our Marja-e-Taqleed Ayatullah al Seyed Ali Hussaini al Sestani, Hujjatul Islam Wal Mumineen, al Seyed Jawad Sharestani and his delegation from Qum, Iran and Seyed Murtadha Murtadha from Nairobi, Kenya.
The Chairman of Africa Federation, Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi was accompanied by three AFED office bearers – the Vice Chairman, Alhaj Shabir Najafi, the Hon. Secretary, Alhaj Aunali Khalfan, the Asst. Hon. Secretary, Alhaj Kumail Manji. The President of the World Federation of KSI Muslim Communities, Dr. Asgharali Moledina and Seyed Alireza Naqvi, the WF IEB ASG were also present.
Also present were officials from AFED, leaders and members from the constituent Jamaats of AFED, officials from Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, officials from various other Institutions, past leaders of our community and a large number of community members were also present to witness the joyful occasion to honour the four prominent members of Madagascar for their exemplary services to the community and in the field of religion.
The Chairman, Alhaj Anwarali Dharamsi in his address recognized the presence of the Representative of our Marja-e-Taqleed, Hujjatul Islam Wal Mumineen, Al Seyed Jawad Sharestani leading a delegation of Ulemah and officials from Qum office. He expressed his deep appreciation to the Regional Council of Madagascar and Institut Islamique de Madagascar (INISMA) for the invitations. He thanked the Antananarivo Jamaat for the opportunity to address to the community and also to honor the four members of Antananarivo Jamaat of Madagascar for their exemplary services to the community and for their devotion and dedication towards Islam and the Madh’ab of Ahlul Baiyt (AS).
Alhaj Anwarali also thanked all those officials and individuals from various Jamaats and Institutions under Africa Federation who made the efforts to travel to Madagascar to attend the functions organized by the Antananarivo Jamaat and INISMA on the occasion of the wiladat of our holy Prophet (SAWW) and the inauguration of Rassoul-Oul Akram Tabligh Building. He thanked the host and INISMA for the warm reception and for the wonderful hospitality accorded to the AFED delegation.

“Al Haj Abdulmonin has since 1982 dedicated his life in the promotion of Tableegh activities in Madagascar. He joined Marhum Roshan Jamil, Al Haj Mohamedraza Khamis, Al Haj Razaly Hirdjee and a number of other Community members joined forces in setting up organizations for Tabligh activities in Madagascar and in other towns.
As a result of these endeavours, today there are many indigenous people in Madagascar who have accepted the madh’hab of Ahlul Baiyt (a.s.). Over the years, this organizations has been able to train a number of local Muallims and Sheikhs who can now carry on with the mission.

“Over the past two decades, Sheikh Haniphe, you have been closely associated with the Institut Islamique de Madagascar (INISMA). Also, been an active member of the Conseil Regional des Khojas Shia Ithna-Aheri Jamates de L’Océan Indien, holding responsible positions, devoting your time and energy with dedication to voluntary services.
In promoting the madh’hab of Ahlul Baiyt (a.s.) within the region and recognizing the need for training the new generation of Muballigheen, Sheikh Haniphe, you have always been responsive in addressing to these growing needs. Always been forthcoming with participation and enthusiastic input for which you will be remembered.
Among such individuals to undertake this task, you have emerged not only as a learned Islamic scholar but also someone who applied himself with dedication in the service of the community promoting Islamic education.
