Bilal School Standard Seven Students Graduates of 2012 were awarded at a ceremony on Sunday 30th September 2012, at the Husainiya Hall in the Bilal Campus, Temeke, Dar es Salaam.
The program was honoured by The Education Officer for Secondary Schools of Temeke District.
The program was blessed with recitations from the holy Quran with translation. The program was flavoured with other items including Utenzi (Poetry), and farewell songs were sung, all composed by the students themselves. Head Prefects spoke about their experiences in school and the drama composed by the students depicted the importance of parental involvements in the modern world challenges and needs.
The Guest of Honour Mr. Bashiru Shelimo, The Education Officer – Temeke District was impressed by the performance and the consistency of the rapport between students and school. He made a remark about some children stating that these children live in homes that do not have proper care and guidance, and these gaps are filled by the school. He further went on to say that whilst the children are parting from the school, there is a fear in their minds of returning home.
He commended the Bilal Comprehensive School in maintaining good standards of education and facilities which helps in developing the students both, academically and socially.
The Guest of Honour, Mr. Bashiru Shelimo was also impressed with the overall performance of the School and commented that he would not hesitate to bring his son and his first grandchild to the School.
We are thankful to Mr. Bashiru Shelimo for offering to sponsor one orphan child’s secondary education at the School.
The program ended with presentations to the top students who went home with several gifts and the rest all were provided with consolation prizes that would be useful in their secondary education. Among those present were Alhaj Pyarali Shivji, Alhaj Habibbhai Virani and Alhaj Mumtazahussein Alloo and several invited guests.
