For the third consecutive year, the Mission in collaboration with IEB of World Federation of KSIMC and Federation of KSI Jamaats of Africa had organized a ten day workshop for muballigheen and muballighat in an effort to create a platform of learning and sharing of knowledge and experiences.
The workshop attracted 70 participants from various organizations in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda that was led by the Alhaj Sheikh Ayub Rashid, a Scholar from the United Kingdom. The workshop commenced on 10th to 20th December, 2012 at Bilal Hall.
This year the topics included, marriage and divorce, Islam and Leadership, Islam and Politics; Sciences of the Holy Qur’an, Hadith and Sunnah, Biography of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s), Attributes of a good speakers amongst many other topics that were covered in 10 days.
Practical lessons on Ahkam Mayyit, that included Ghusl Mayyit, Janaza Prayers and burial of the dead attracted great interest from the muballigheen who sought clarifications on the procedures, implications and recommended acts in preparation of the dead for burial. The participants were divided into smaller groups to enhance understanding.
Other practical initiatives that ignited critical thinking from the participants included debates, question and answer sessions, quote of the day – assigned to different participant every day, practical leadership in prayers and duas.
Local scholars were also invited. They included Sheikh Abdillahi Nassir, Sayed Hussein Bayduni, Sheikh Rijali Bwana Rijali, Ustadh Muhammad Dumila and Br. Stanbul Abdillahi Nassir. They dwelt in various issues that affect humanity in all spheres of their lives; socially, spiritually, economically and in the political arena.
The CBB Chairman, Alhaj Mohsin A. Lalji, Hon. Secretary, Alhaj Inayat Alidina accompanied with Africa Federation Hon. Secretary, Alhaj Aunali Khalfan, the Hon. Treasurer, Alhaj Mohamed Hemani, AFED/BMMK Trustee Alhaj Sultan Molu and the CEO of Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania, Alhaj Mumtazhussein Alloo had the opportunity to meet with Sheikh Ayub and the participants of the CPD training program during their visit to Mombasa on December 15th, 2012.
In his address at the closing ceremony, Sheikh Ayub encouraged the participants to seek knowledge continuously. He also urged them to put in practice what they have learnt in the Seminar. “It is one thing to learn, it is another to put into practice what you have learnt.”
He thanked Bilal Muslim Mission of Kenya, The World Federation of KSIMC and the Federation of KSI Jamaats of Africa for co-organizing such forum.
Alhaj Fazleabbas M Bhanji, Hon. Secretary, speaking on behalf of the Chairman of BMMK, Alhaj Abbas Nasser, appreciated the work done by the muballigheen in the field of Tableegh. He acknowledged the difficult conditions that they come across in their line of duty saying that only Allah (s.w.t.) shall reward them amply. Alhaj Ahmed Dhalla, Member of the Managing Committee of BMMK, presented Certificate of Appreciation to Sheikh Ayub Rashid.
The Participants were awarded with certificates and books.
