The Bilal Comprehensive School which is situated in the outskirts of Dar es Salaam, in Temeke area on 30th April 2013, celebrated the Wiladah of Bibi Fatemah Az Zahra (SA) , the daughter of the Holy Prophet of Islam, Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (SAWW) themed – “Mothers’ Day” as recommended by Imam Khomeini (RA).
The Wiladah celebration was performed in phases where each individual took part in the activity and the students anxiously made cards to wish their mothers and presented to them when time approached of Mothers’ Day.
Students celebrated first half of the day in quiz and Qaswida program.
In the second half the entire staff was divided into ten groups with a group leader. Each group was given a topic relating to the Holy Lady (SA). They were provided with flip charts and markers to come forward and make presentations of the topic discussed within their groups with discussion time allotted to each group.
This was observed to be a very healthy exercise. A lot of information came out in the presentations and hidden skills were noticed.
Sister Salma Merali was invited as a Guest Speaker to highlight on a teacher’s role in treating every child as an individual.
On 02nd & 3rd May, 2013 mothers were invited to celebrate Mothers Days with their children. Mothers met their children with their Mother’s Day cards and a sweet hug.
Mothers with their children participated in painting upon which the best painted items were gifted. For those children whose mothers could not attend the function were facilitated to watch a video show on the life of our Prophet Mohamed (S.A.W.W.)
The purpose of disseminating the life history and the message of the Holy Lady was achieved through this event Al-hamdulillah.
