BEST STUDENT AWARD 2012
The Best Student Award Scheme recognizes the accomplishments of students within our community who have achieved outstanding results at O–levels. It has been conducted successfully for many years by the Education Board under the auspices of the Federation of KSI Jamaats of Africa.
The award is open to boys and girls who have appeared for the National Examination and Overseas Board Examination “O” levels during the academic year i.e. January to December.
This year, the Education Board received applications from Dar es Salaam, Mombasa and Arusha. After close scrutiny on the set criteria of selection, the following are the results:

STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS
Awarded Aston University Scholarship
Sis. Sabiha Shahnawaz Pyarali Sumar, alumni of Jaffery Academy Mombasa was awarded the Aston University School of Life & Health Sciences Undergraduate Scholarship for the year 2012/13 worth GBP 2,750.
Sabiha is currently pursuing her first year of Degree in Biomedical Sciences at the Aston University.

Br. MohamedRiza Receives National Health Service Heroes Award
In 2012, the NHS launched the NHS Heroes award, which recognizes the day-to-day work of health professionals deemed to go the extra mile for their patients. Patients and their families were asked to nominate staff whose compassion and kindness has made a difference to their lives. The National Health Service is well known to everyone around the world, as the largest publicly funded health service.
A member of our community, MohamedRiza Sadak (of Milton Keynes) had the pleasure of receiving this accolade on its inception last year. MohamedRiza specializes in Microbiology and Infectious Diseases and is heavily involved in antimicrobial stewardship activities and antimicrobial resistance in his organization.
He also serves as the secretary to the antibiotic steering group in his organization and reports to the Chief Executive on antimicrobial prescribing issues. He holds a Masters in Pharmacy (2004, London) a post-Graduate Clinical Diploma in Clinical Hospital Pharmacy (2008, Keele) and is completing his Masters in Leadership in Health and Social Care (2013, Northampton) with research based on antimicrobial stewardship activities.
The Secretariat of the Africa Federation Education Board is delighted to learn of these wonderful achievements and wish Br. MohamedRiza every success in his career development.
HIGHER EDUCATION LOAN APPLICATION FORM (REVISED APRIL 2013)
The Africa Federation Higher Education loan application form has been slightly revised and categorized into 5 sections. The forms will soon be uploaded on the AFED website. Jamaats are to ensure that students wishing to apply for the Higher Education loan fill in the new revised forms.
