BILAL CAMPUS TEMEKE
COMMEMORATES ASHRA OF MUHARRAM-1435
Bilal Comprehensive School–Temeke organized the Ashra-e-Muharram 1435 AH program from Tuesday, 5th November 2013 (1st Muharram 1435) with the following activities:
- Daily Majlis with recitation of Hadeethul Kisaa, Yaseen, Marthiyas and Nauhas followed by lectures.
- Students were taken through different activities using power point presentation on Akhlaq and explanations in respect of the mission of Imam Hussain (AS).
- The Hawza students participated everyday in the evening lectures by Sayyid Aydarus Alawi at Masjid-e-Bilal in Udowe, Kariakoo.
- Students also took part in the Ashura Day Juloos (Procession).
On Friday, 11th Muharram, the entire community of the Temeke campus gathered in Husayniya for a Majlis program to offer condolences to the 12th Imam (atfs). The session began with Dua-e-Ahad with a short narration of the tragedy of Karbala and ended with Ziyarat-e-Ashura.
The highlight of the Ashra-e-Muharram program was the somber and well attended procession held on Sunday, 17th November 2013 (13th Muharram 1435) from Sambwisi Street to the Bilal Campus. Africa Federation and Bilal Muslim Mission of Tanzania officials, Sheikhs from different Mosques, Bilal Students, Teachers and Mumineens in their hundreds were among the participants. During the procession, leaflets explaining the background of the tragedy of Kerbala and the stand of Aba Abdillahil Hussain (AS) were distributed to the public. Nawhas were recited and the cry of LABBAYK YA HUSSAYN was proclaimed throughout the Procession.
After the procession, Majlis by Sheikh Hemed Jalala on the tragedy of Karbala and the life of Imam Hussein (AS) was held at the Comprehensive School followed by Dhohrain (afternoon) prayers ending with Niyaz at the campus.
As the campus commemorated Ashra-e-Muharram with various activities, six Teachers and two Admin staff were blessed to perform Ziyarat in Iran and offer their condolences in person to the 8th Holy Imam, Mussa Al Reza (AS).
